DJ Alphire › Northern California wedding DJ › Outdoor ceremony & reception sound
Outdoor ceremony sound, cocktail hour and reception from one DJ.
Vows that guests can hear, a cocktail hour that sets the mood, and a reception that flows straight from the toasts to the dance floor.
Updated October 2026 · By DJ Alphire, Oakland CA
Outdoor weddings are hard on sound: wind, open space and guests spread across lawns. DJ Alphire brings a fully self-contained rig, so a venue PA is not required, plus a backup mixer and spare cabling so the music does not stop if something fails.
Ceremony sound is available as an add-on so vows and readings are heard clearly. Cocktail-hour ambiance, the reception and MC hosting through entrances, toasts and the cake cutting are covered in the standard wedding package starting at $1,495.
One DJ across all three phases means one set of cues. The same person who plays your processional announces your entrance and runs the toasts, so the timeline holds without hand-offs.
Ceremony to reception

- Dinner and cake cutting: announcements and transitions
- Dance floor: dance lighting and a read-the-room set
- Throughout: backup equipment on-site
Before you book
Outdoor venue checklist.
Tell us whether power is available near the setup area (two dedicated 15 A / 120 V circuits are needed), where the ceremony and cocktail hour will be, and any sound curfew. Setup takes about 60-90 minutes. If your venue has no suitable power, we can talk through options before you book.
